Satan, Enemy of the Gentiles

It was the Angel of Death (the Destroyer) that passed over children of Israel to murder the gentiles.

“An angel called Abaddon is described as the king of an army of locusts; his name is first transcribed in Greek (Revelation 9:11—"whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, The Angel of Death.") as Ἀβαδδὼν, and then translated ("which in Greek means the Destroyer", Ἀπολλύων, Apollyon).

King of the Locusts

“The locusts looked like horses prepared for battle. On their heads they wore something like crowns of gold, and their faces resembled human faces. Their hair was like women’s hair, and their teeth were like lions’ teeth. They had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the sound of their wings was like the thundering of many horses and chariots rushing into battle. They had tails with stingers, like scorpions, and in their tails they had power to torment people for five months. They had as king over them the angel of the Abyss, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon and in Greek is Apollyon (that is, Destroyer).”

From the Septuagint:
“Thus the Lord showed me, and behold, a swarm of locusts coming early, and behold, one locust, Gog, the king.”

In Genesis, Gog is identified with one of the nations descended from Japheth(Genesis 9:27: "May God extend Japheth's territory). Japheth is ascribed seven sons: Gomer, Magog, Tiras, Javan, Meshech, Tubal, and Madai. Most reference books, following Flavius Josephus, identify Tubal in Ezekiel's time as an area that is now in Turkey.

Throughout the Medieval period the Japhethites have been identified as the Huns, Khazars and Mongols. In the Qur'an, as Yajuj and Majuj (Arabic: يأجوج ومأجوج‎ Yaʾjūj wa-Maʾjūj).

In Revelation 20:8 it says that Satan is gathering this army called ‘Gog’ and ‘Magog’
(called ‘locusts’) to battle.

In conclusion, Satan is associated with the King of Locusts, Abaddon the Destroyer, who protected the children of Israel.
